Welcome to my website.‘Quiessence’ is a play on the word ‘quiescence’ - to be peaceful & at rest. This is what I aim for all my clients to feel by having a treatment with me.

My name is Cath & I decided to study and practice complementary therapies after having benefited from them myself over many years. I believe that massage - the human touch, the physical manipulation of muscle, and then the oils on top of all this, is a wonderful experience that will enhance almost everyone's wellbeing, and that it should be a regular part of our lives.
I now practice most days of the week & weekend, either within client's homes or at my therapy room in central Bristol.
I qualified from the Bristol School of Holistic Therapies in 2005, and after an extensive 2-year course of academic study & hands-on practice. I then studied under the Institute of Indian Head Massage & the Usui system of Reiki healing. I gained these qualifications:
- Diploma in Aromatherapy
- Certificate in Anatomy & Physiology
- Certificate in Body Massage
- Certificate in Traditional Indian Head Massage
- Certificate in Reiki 1
These qualifications allow me to use the letters 'Dip BSA' and ‘IHM’ after my name.
I have also studied body massage further & have added Deep Tissue techniques learnt from the Bristol School of Massage. I am a member of the Independent Professional Therapists International (IPTI) association & am fully insured. I also volunteer at St Peters Hospice in Bristol, offering a range of therapies to daycare patients & am also a regular member of the massage teams at the Bath, Bristol & London marathons.
