Pre & After Care

Before your appointment

  • Avoid eating heavy meals up to 2 hours before the appointment. If food hasn't digested before you receive treatment you may feel sick or light-headed

  • Avoid drinking alcohol

  • Take a warm bath or shower if possible. Dont put body lotion on afterwards.

  • Remove necklaces, earrings, rings & keep them in a safe place

  • Remove any make-up

  • Put telephones on silent or switch them off!

After your appointment

I will spend some time with you after the treatment advising you of the things you can do to prolong the benefits of the treatment. In addition we can discuss any other recommendations that, out of personal experience, I think may improve your well-being. After a treatment you should always:
  • Drink plenty of water (at least 8 tall glasses per day; this will help flush the toxins that have been released into your system)
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, smoking or heavy meals for at least 24 hours (this will maximise the detoxification process)
  • Rest up & relax for as long as possible

Some frequent recommendations I make:-

  • For back pain and weakness, a gentle Yoga class such as Hatha Yoga, or a gentle Pilates class may help strengthen the back & stomach muscles.
  • For stress try a regular T'ai Chi class, Yoga class or guided meditation (as well as your massage, naturally!)
  • For anxiety/panic attacks try Hypnotherapy or Acupuncture
